Back In The Saddle

Hello world. Welcome to my blog. After a rather long hiatus from writing, I’m back in the saddle. My lovely wife, Emily and our little jack russell terrier, Tom Sawyer, are hitting the road in the first week in April, 2019. We are headed out on a six month travel odyssey through out the American West, Canada and Alaska. I plan to made blog entries about the places we go, the people we meet and the stories they tell us. Until our leaving date, I’m going to work on my writing skills by posting a few sideline stories and opinion pieces. I hope you will enjoy them.

Thank you Mike. Where in West VA. I just might take you up on that.

    Hey Steve!
First exposure to your blog and I enjoyed and appreciated your commentary, particularly the recap of the Jonathan Daniels and Ruby Sales tragedy.
I know it is a different subject, but the other problem, in my view, with both the governor and Lt. governor of Virginia is their advocacy for the murder of
Infants surviving abortion or otherwise unwanted or “defective”. How a physician with the governor’s background could take that position is incomprehensible.
On a lighter note…you will be gone for the reunion of the ‘69 championship baseball team, of which you became an honorary member by virtue of your attendance in 2016!
I guess Rick will have to come without you.
Envy you your trip! Have a great and safe time.

Hello JC, my good friend and Brother Rat.

Thank you for reading my blog. I can’t think of a better audience.

I’m with you on the abortion question, although I don’t believe the entire story was told accurately in the media. It is a very complicated question no doubt. Deserves lots more analysis.

I can’t believe I am now an honorary member of the ’69 team. Do I have to reveal my batting average? Should I prepare an acceptance speech?

You will be glad to know, Steve, (as we all will) that at this stage of the game, batting averages are not important. All that matters is that we are teammates! 🙂…and…brother rats!

Well said. Whew! I dodged that bullet.
