Hello Tribe. Today is Thursday, June 6.
We are spending time on the Oregon Coast. From Florence to Pacific City. Here are a few teaser pictures.

Now back to the chronological narrative.
April 28.
We leave our North Beach campground early in the morning and head back to Corpus Christi. We pick up 143, then go south on 77 through Kingsville (population 26,000), Armstrong (population 2) and Norias (population 0) where on August 1917 a band of Mexican Seditionistas attacked an American Ranch during the Mexican Revolution. The result of this raid and many others lead to an increased effort on the part of the American government to defend the border. Where is Donald Trump when you need him? Combatants killed seven people in this happy affair.Â
On through Rudolf (population 0) and Raymondville (population 11,300). Finally, some people.
We pick up 186 and drive east to Port Mansfield (population 226), where we camp free for the night at the Fred Stone (no, not Fred Flintstone) County Park and Pier on Laguna Madre Bay with fifty Mexican Americans enjoying a fine Sunday evening, fishing, barbequing and listening to loud Mariachi band music and fifties oldies.

We take a walk on the park pier but turn back when it gets too damned rickety. By late evening most of our Mexican American neighbors had left, except for a few stubborn fishermen.
A very pleasant evening settles in. A few shorebirds work the mud flats.

Just about dark, a herd of about fifty white-tail deer walks down the street beside the park. Sawyer goes crazy. He does not impress the deer.
To bed early.
Tomorrow, making our way southwestward.

What a sunrise shot! Magnificent!
